a perfect gig?
This show was the peak of my Jauntee live experience, thus far.
I made the trek out from Albany to Worcester, and arrived in time to hang out a bit before they went on stage.
The sound in the venue was incredible, one of the clearest and most pristine club shows I think I'll ever see. The bass guitar was clear and audible, separated from the other instruments. What a great mix.
As for the music, this setlist is pretty much perfect. The flow and energy just built and built, setting the band up for some extreme jamming explosions.
Everything is incredibly well-played, and the jamming from Black Bart through to Devi's Haircut was some of the most exciting live music I've ever seen.
The whole show is really one big highlight, to be honest. This would make a great show to introduce the Jauntee to those unfamiliar with their music, as this show clearly illustrates what kind of magic these kids can conjure through their instruments.
Of special note is the jamming in Fractal Fuck, Devil's Haircut, and Space Monkeys. One of the longer versions of Space Monkeys, the band really took it out there and Caton was playing with some really cool volume-swell effects in the jam. Really unique version.
